Disciplers/N.E.T.
(Nurture, Encourage, and Touch)
Disciplers supply pastoral care to the church body. They are
responsible for following up on those making decisions for Christ.
Another group of people, NETworkers, follow up through phone calls
and interaction with people who have filled out welcome cards.
Drama
Several dramatic productions are performed during the year,
utilizing the arts for ministry and worship. Try-outs are held for
each production.
Food
Basket
The Food Basket Ministry helps provide assistance to those in
need and/or makes referrals to other agencies or departments for
follow-up. The Food Basket is open on Monday's and Wednesday's from 10am - 12pm.
Helping
Hands
The Helping Hands Ministry meets the practical needs of the
church in areas such as banquets, special events, mail-out
activities, facilities assistance and hosting.
Jail/Prison
Ministry
Individuals minister at the McLennan County Jail every Sunday.
Opportunities are available for both men and women.
Mercy
Team
The Mercy Team helps families in times of loss of loved ones,
whether it be providing food or helping with household chores.
Assistance could include helping those returning home from hospital
stays, or wherever there is a need created by illness or death.
CD/Tape
Ministry
The Tape Ministry is responsible for duplicating tapes and CDs.
All services andtrainingsessions are sold through the Bookstore at
the cost of $1.00 per tape or $2.00 per CD. DVDs are also
available of some services at a nominal fee.
Transportation
The transportation ministry provides transportation to Church of
the Open Door services for members on a temporary basis. We believe
that no one should be unable to come to Open Door because of a lack
of transportation.
Ushers/Greeters
The Ushers and Greeters Ministry assists the Pastor by providing
hospitality and comfort for those attending services. They are
responsible for security in the building and on the parking lots
after services. |
